Sainsbury's for a number of years had outsourced their IT function to Accenture. In 2007 a large part of the IT department was bought back in-house to be run and managed by Sainsbury’s directly as part of a restructuring and future business re-engineering exercise. This meant a significant change in staff and recruitment to build this new team. As part of their strategy a need was envisaged to use staff from a number of sources from agencies to consultancies.
Spargonet presented our credentials including a track record of working with a number of retailers. References were taken from clients and in August 2007 Spargonet were approved as a Consultancy Partner. We immediately started to provide senior resource in the form of Architects and Project Managers.
We have increased our presence and now provide:
- Technical Design and Solution Architects
- Project Managers
- MDM Data Management Specialists
- Business Analysts, Designers
- Project Test team for UAT of the Retek RSS upgrade including Project and Test Management and Test Analysts. The team have planned and undertaken UAT testing and integration for the new core Retek upgrade
- Project Team for PCI Compliance consisting of a Test Manager and testers
- Project Team for re-specifying their Supply Chain EDI
- Project Team for developing/changing tactical solutions or supply Chain current applications.
Spargonet are moving forward with Sainsbury's and providing a wide service and strengthening our relationship.
